My first experience with Fantasy was through films, such as Hawk the Slayer, Beastmaster, Conan the Barbarian, the Lord of the Rings animated film and other similar films of the time.  This led me into looking for Fantasy fiction where I discovered novels by R A Salvatore, Terry Brooks and, of course, those of the late and great J R R Tolkien and Terry Pratchett and the Fighting Fantasy game books by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone.

It was while working my way through the game books, never did get through Starship Traveller, that I wanted more from the fantasy worlds.  I wanted free reign over what my characters could do.  It was then I was introduced to the classic red box set of Dungeons and Dragons Basic by TSR, where I started writing my first scenarios for my role-playing group.  Then came AD&D 2nd Edition, where I created my own scenarios which were now becoming campaigns complete with storylines.  I then ventured out into other genres, often creating different adventures.  I really loved the idea of creating these storylines for people to enjoy more than I did playing them, though did garner pleasure from playing them too.

Then, as so often happens, real life intervened and virtually everything changed, except for my love for devouring fantasy and science fiction novels.  There were sporadic attempts to start up new groups for role-playing, but these were short-lived.  I often looked to my collection of games and decided to just continue writing more scenarios and campaigns, not because I ever expected them to see the gaming table, but because I still enjoyed the entire creating process.  That's when I decided to create that one world to rule them all and in this world, bind them.  Pangaiea.
